The department manages offenders who are in prison, on probation and on parole. A Research and Evaluation Unit is responsible for providing data and analysis to support the entire department. In addition, the department manages the Missouri Sexual Offender Program and runs the state's correctional centers. Also within the department is the Board of Probation and Parole and the Division of Probation and Parole.
